Abstract

231,790. Steel Belt Conveyors, Ltd., (Sandvikens Jernverks Aktiebolaget). Jan. 19, 1925. Continuous - d i s - charge apparatus with moving containers. - In apparatus for mixing clay, sugar, &c., of the kind comprising a conveyer on which the material is moved past fixed baffles or ploughs, the baffles have inclined edges over and under which the material passes. The conveyer band 1 is supported on battens 2, the material being retained thereon by side plates 4 carried by battens 5 on resiliently-supported cross-members 6. The baffles or ploughs are V- shaped and are arranged in pairs, the front baffle comprising members 12 having sloping edges 12<b> and presenting a tall apex 12a to the stream of material; the rear baffle 13 presents its open end to the stream and has its members pivoted to the sides 4, while the nose is raised by an adjustable screwed rod 17. The material passes over the edges 12b and under the edges 13b. The ends of the plates 4 are bent inwardly to deflect the material on the baffles 12.
