Abstract
475,899. Applying screw stoppers to bottles. STANILAND, E. F., and PERKS, A. May 29, 1936, No. 15202. Addition to 452,785. [Class 125 (ii)] The apparatus described in the parent Specification is modified in that the stoppers are positively swept from the feed hooper g, Fig. 1, by a series of carriers h, mounted on an endless conveyer a which traverses the hopper and are conveyed thereon to the shoot m, which delivers them to the inclined conveyer band n. The carriers h are formed with two curved bars h<1>, h<2>, Fig. 2, and the conveyer a passes round sprockets b, c, d, its vertical side traversing an open-ended receptacle f which forms part of the hopper g. If two stoppers are lifted by one carrier h, the upper stopper is dislodged by the teeth of the sprocket b. Alternatively baffles o may be provided to ensure that only one stopper is conveyed on each support h.
