Abstract

332,067. Groom, S. L. July 25, 1929. Endless bands, articles carried by; charging.- In a tunnel oven for drying plates &c. of the kind in which the plates are carried by an endless chain conveyer A, a charging device is situated at each end of the oven. The conveyer has wire frame carriers C<1> with hooked ends and is mounted on sprockets B with horizontal axes, small sprockets or rollers B<1> being provided for spreading the carriers at the feeding point. The feed conveyers E, E<1> have dogs H by which the plates are pushed on to the carriers. The use of two feed conveyers may be applied to an oven in which the main conveyer is mounted on sprockets having vertical axes, as described in Specification 328,624.
