Abstract

<PICT:0401327/IV/1> <PICT:0401327/IV/2> In a machine for sizing and finishing cotton and other yarns or threads 60, Fig. 1, the yarn is sprayed with liquid in a tubular member 63, the liquid being directed from a nozzle or jet 64 in a direction opposite to the direction of travel of the yarn. An air blast is supplied through the conduit 68. The nozzle comprises an air manifold 18, Fig. 2, provided with a tube or tubes 19 joined to the liquid supply tube 25 at 24 and provided with a nozzle 20 formed as a slot 23 or with a number of small holes.
