Abstract

394,521. Drying fabrics. PRAT, E., 64, Rue de Miromesnil, Paris. Sept. 15, 1932, No. 25720. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1931. [Class 34 (i).] In a tentering and drying machine comprising several compartments, choke tubes in the different compartments are placed in series so as to utilize the kinetic energy remaining in the air from one compartment to draw air through some of the other compartments. In the form illustrated, hot air is supplied under pressure to the nozzle 1 by a fan, and is thereby injected through the compartments 2, 3, 4 through which pass the layers of fabric 5. Air leaving the apparatus via compartment 3 and choke tube 6 serves to draw cool air through the compartment 7, while the air injected through the nozzle 1 serves to carry along air from compartments 4 which is returned through pipe 5. The choke tubes may be outside the drying machine, being connected thereto by means of nozzles.
