Abstract
372,503. Artificial silk &c. CHATILLON SOC. ANON. ITALIANA PER LA SETA ARTIFICIALE, 13, Via Conservatorio, Milan, Italy. March 30, 1931, No. 9833. Convention date, May 7,1930. [Class 2 (ii).] A dry-spinning cell is provided with heating means, such as a jacket B, to produce a rising current of gases and vapours, which is directed from one side only, as by a tube D, on to the filaments issuing from the nozzle F, the gaseous mixture being then drawn, by convection effects alone, through a pipe N cooled by a central tube O and finally returning to the lower part of the cell. Condensed solvent escapes through an outlet S. The threads may traverse an inner chamber C with a conical lower end in which apertures may be provided communicating with the outer chamber of the cell. A diaphragm T in the tube D controls the flow of gases. Specification 344,385 is referred to.
