Abstract

317,108. Ruzicka, C. Dec. 17, 1928. Apparatus for making filaments.-The spinning cell e arranged for downward spinning is provided with a casing or jacket e<1> having at the upper part a connection e<4> through which heated air is supplied and at the lower part openings e<5> communicating with the spinning cell so that the heated air passes downwardly through the jacket and upwardly through the spinning cell, being eventually withdrawn through a pipe e<7>. The collecting bobbin x is arranged below the cell, or the lower part of the latter is enlarged to accommodate it. The bobbin is rotated at such a speed as slightly to stretch the filaments. The spinning nozzle a in the upper part of the cell is mounted at the end of a hinged arm b.
