Abstract

<PICT:0365502/IV/1> In the stretch-spinning artificial silk the jet of liquid flowing from the spinning vessel 1 is returned just below the guide-rod 3 round which the thread 2 passes. For this purpose a plate 8 is arranged beneath the rod and at such a distance therefrom that the heap of liquid makes contact with rod. The plate may be adjustable in position and may be hinged so as to permit access to the rod at starting. By braking the flow of liquid, rupture of filaments is obviated, thus permitting floss-free silk to be obtained and higher spinning speeds to be employed.
