Abstract

322,927. Boucher, E. Jan. 14, 1929. Vaporizing by air currents.-Liquids are vaporized by passing a blast of air through spongy or porous material in which the liquid is absorbed. Fig. 1 shows a form of apparatus in which a cylindrical vessel C mounted in the neck of a bottle F, and provided with a nozzle C<1> is provided at its base with a ball valve E and grid D. A cylindrical piston H acted on by a spring G is reciprocated to draw and eject air through the nozzle C'. A bayonet catch I locks the piston when not in use. Fig. 2 shows a form in which a cylindrical piston A<1> acted on by a spring R slides over a cylindrical vessel B<1> containing spongy material S and provided with a nozzle G'. A spring ring I<1> which prevents withdrawal of the member A<1> is provided with a notch forming with the nozzle G' a bayonet catch to hold the apparatus closed.
