688,563. Ejecting liquids by gaseous pressure. ALLSOP, C. F. Oct. 26, 1951 [Sept. 6, 1950], No. 21956/50. Class 102 (ii). Apparatus for projecting a liquid, e.g., a coloured liquid to visibly mark an assailant, comprises a container a divided by partition d in two compartments a<SP>2</SP>, a<SP>3</SP>. The compartment a<SP>2</SP> is filled with liquid and is fitted with a piston m and has a nozzle f that can be closed by suction-actuated cap n. A capsule e of gas under pressure is fitted to chamber a' and rests against a boss d' and is enclosed in a sleeve g, its neck e' being supported by a ring h loaded by a spring k that bears against the striker j. When the capsule is pierced, the gas passes through passages g' and d<SP>3</SP> and d<SP>2</SP> to act on the piston m whereby the pressure removes the cap n and the contents are ejected.
