Abstract

834,927. Storing gases under pressure; dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. SPARKLETS Ltd. Feb. 10, 1958 [Feb. 11, 1957], No. 4669/57. Classes 8(2) and 102(2). [Also in Group XXIX] A container 10 for discharging liquid under gaseous pressure is provided with a head 11 having an outlet passage provided with a portion 17 converging towards an outlet orifice 18 and co-operating with a convergent resilient valve plug 34 to prevent discharge from the orifice. A dip tube 22 communicates with an annular passage 26 which communicates by a tangential passage 27 with the outlet passage 35. The plug 34 is carried by a valve member 32 loaded by a spring 41 and having a stem 38 actuated by a lever 47. The space behind the valve is subjected to gaseous pressure in the container 10 by means of a passage 46 to counteract the pressure of the liquid acting on the other end of the valve. Gaseous pressure is introduced into the container 10 by means of a capsule 57 inserted into a socket 54 to engage with a seal 58 on a slidable member 56. A member 68 is then screwed on to the container and the capsule 57 and member 56 advance so that a hollow pin 60 pierces the capsule to liberate the gas.
