Abstract

1,182,531. Pressurized dispensing containers. SCOVILL MFG. CO. Jan.16, 1968 [Jan.30, 1967], No.2377/68. Heading F1R. A closure for a pressurized dispensing container comprises a diaphragm 22 rupturable by depression of an outlet stem 15. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 the spring 17 and the ruptured diaphragm 22 fall into the container and discharge is through the passages 20. In a second embodiment, Fig. 4, the spring is separately supported and remains in position, the member 15 being provided with a flow passage 32 and a sharper end 31 to rupture the diaphragm 29. A dip tube connection 28 is provided. The passage 32 may be replaced by an axial passage through the end 31. The seal 13 is movable away from the end 14 so that filling may take place around the housing 21, 27.
