Abstract

1,191,431. Pressurized dispensing containers. SCOVILL MFG. CO. Jan.9, 1968 [Jan. 11, 1967], No.1282/68. Heading F1R. A valve unit for a pressurized dispensing container comprises a mounting cap 9 with a central pedestal 12 having an aperture 14 surrounded by a washer 18 on which seats the rim 15 of a one piece plastics moulding which includes a valve stem 17, a dip tube mounting member 35, a spring housing 20 having a wall 21 which together with an outer wall 28 forms an annular chamber 29 with which the bore of the member 35 communicates. Ribs on the exterior of the wall 28 allow passage of fluid during filling through the opening 14. The spring 24 is of the Belleville type. Depression of the stem 17 causes the rim 15 to leave the washer 18, the wall 21 being bent, so that ports 40 in the stem 17 are connected to the chamber 29. In a modification the wall 21 is outwardly flared to assist flexing.
