[Also in Division F2] A tubular spout valve for a gas pressure dispenser comprises a rigid tubular stem 40, Fig. 3, haying an imperforate head 33, a port 36 into the stem, and a cylindrical portion 37 outward of the port, a resilient seal 29 and a spring 28 which is sufficiently deflectable to permit a portion 44 of reduced cross-section to be spacedly positioned in the seal aperture 31. This occurs when the stem is engaged by a hollow cast metal head 47 fitted with sealing pads 49, 51 and supplied with gas under pressure by a conduit 46. The centre 50 of the head may have an orifice to permit gas to flow into the container through the bore of the stem as well as through the space between the portion 44, which may be formed by two flats, and the seal aperture. Sloping areas 45 ensure that the spring can return the stem to closed position when gassing is complete. A detachable spout 38 limits downward movement of the stem during normal operation. In a modified construction and for use on a bottle the spring surrounds the portion of the stem above the seal and the stem is tilted instead of depressed to uncover the ports 36.
