Damping warps and wefts in looms.-A manually-operated humidifying-apparatus designed to apply a local humidifying-spray to the yarns under the control of the loom operative comprises a spraying-device 1 having a chamber for water or other liquid, an atomizer nozzle 1<a>, and a handoperated air pump. The spraying-device is supported in a carrier 2, secured to the loom gable so as to direct the spray on to the yarn 4 at the back of the loom. One or two spraying-devices may be used.
