Abstract

335,151. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). March 22, 1929. Metallic threads and non-metallic threads, fabrics with.-A diaphragm for use in electrolytic cells, is made by enclosing a layer of wires a in a woven fabric during the weaving operation, the spun threads of the latter being preferably of asbestos and arranged to substantially cover the wires. Two sets of warp and weft threads may be used as shown in Fig. 1, the three layers thus formed being held together by occasionally passing the upper warp threads b<1> below the lower weft threads c<2>; or, as is shown in Fig. 2, a single warp b may interweave with upper and lower weft threads c<1>, c<2>.
