Refrigerating, absorption machines for. - - In continuouslvacting machines in which vapour and entrained liquor pass from the generator 1 to the separation chamber 4, the strong liquor supply pipe 7 is connected to the upper part of the generator to prevent liquor being forced from the generator into the pipe 7 and consequent uncovering of the submerged electric heater 2, when the pressure in the generator rises unduly. A steam coil may be substituted for the electric heater. In a modification, the strong liquor supply pipe 15, Fig. 2, is formed with branches 16, 17. In another arrangement in which the supply pipe is also branched, the lower end of the pipe connecting the generator to the separation chamber is submerged.
