Steam generation, method of; heating by direct contact of steam. - In steam-producing apparatus of the kind in which steam generated at critical pressure in a boiler a is led off for use through a throttling device c, the steam is stored in front of the throttling device in a collector b, and is led behind the throttling device into heat accumulators d, e. The steam is taken from the accumulators through pipes h. Steam may also be taken off between the throttling device and the accumulators. The accumulators may be under different pressures, steam being led intc them through separate throttling devices.
