Abstract

255,840. Akt.-Ges. der Maschinenfabriken Escher, Wyss, et Cie. July 22, 1925, [Convention date]. Heating by direct contact of steam with water. - High pressure steam is generated in a reservoir 6 by the direct contact of water with steam generated in pipe coils 3 and superheated in pipe coils 4, water being supplied to the coils from a pipe not connected with the reservoir. The steam generated in the coils passes through a throttling device 5 before entering the reservoir. Water is supplied to the reservoir by a pump 12. The steam taken from the reservoir is passed through a superheater 9.
