Abstract
206,603. Guy, H. L., and Metropolitan- Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd. Aug. 12, 1922. Casings ; cooling parts.-In steam turbines in order to minimise the the transfer of heat from a high-pressure portion of relatively small dimensions and regular formation to a low-pressure portion of relatively large dimensions and irregular formation the exhaust end of the highpressure portion 1 projects into the low-pressure portion 2 and is joined thereto within the low-pressure portion by a web or skirting 5 thus providing a cooling-belt 6. The web 5 may be of conical form and of comparatively flexible material, and a bleeder belt 7 may be associated therewith as shown.
