Abstract
400,851. Spray carburetters. CARBURATORI MEMINI SOC. ANON. ITALIANA, 16, Via Poliziano, Milan, Italy. April 18, 1933, No. 11387. Addition to 372,913 and 378,871. [Class 7 (iii).] In a carburetter for aircraft engines in which automatic control means are provided by which the fuel supply to the float chamber is cut off in the inverted position of the carburetter and a single fuel supply pipe is provided which supplies the float chamber under normal conditions, as described in the parent Specification, the feeding duct for normal flight is adapted to communicate directly with the jet. A supply pipe 9a feeds fuel into a chamber 27 containing a control member 23a which normally keeps open a fuel passage 10a leading to a float chamber 5a having a needle valve 8a controlling the outlet 39 of the passage 10a. A passage 56 behind the outlet 39 puts the passage 10a into direct communication with a chamber A connected to the fuel nozzle 4a which is also supplied from the float chamber through a port 59. Cones 44<1> on the control member 23a which effect the closure of the passage 10a or a passage 19a for inverted flying, are resiliently mounted to dampen shocks and reduce wear ; alternatively the cones may be rigidly mounted on a control member operated by floats or weighted levers. The fuel may be aerated by air admitted through passages 61, 63 and 64, 65
