Abstract
399,965. Supply and delivery arrangements for hot-water boilers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, HARVEY, R. and PEARSON, E. J. B., c/o General Electric Co., Wembley, Middlesex. Aug. 25, 1932, Nos. 23744/32 and 6921/33. [Class 64 (i).] In a water-heater supplied from below the level of the container, the water is prevented from siphoning back from the container by means of a vent so shaped that the water tends to draw in air by injector action. The supply pipe 3 is of inverted U -shape 8, 7 and the vent pipe 10 is connected to a cup 11 which is provided with a perforated and dome-shaped cover. In a modification, the supply pipe is surrounded by a tube closed at its upper end, and the vent consists of apertures made by cutting parts of the wall of the tube and pressing the material inwards to form constrictions and act as an injector- An electric immersion heater 2 is provided.
