399,471. Furnace fronts and doors. BENNIS, A. W., Highfield Road, Little Hulton, near Bolton. March 3, 1932, No. 6381. [Class 51 (i).] Air is supplied for cooling purposes to a hollow furnace front through damper-controlled ducts A, B connected to the main supply conduit (not shown), and such ducts constitute or carry the bearings for the driving shaft E of firebar reciprocating mechanism. The air passes from the ducts A, B to casings K, H respectively on opposite sides of the hollow furnace door D and thence through openings K<1>, D<1> to the casing L and door respectively. The air passes to the furnace through openings M, D<2>.
