Class 137 A unit ventilating apparatus of the type comprising a casing enclosing a heating or cooling battery and a fan for driving air through the battery, has a rigid base frame 1 provided with lugs 9 by which the unit is secured to a wall or ceiling, a fan 6, a tubular heater 2, and its enclosing casing 8 being each, independently of one another, detachably secured to the frame 1 in such a manner that the battery and/or the fan can be rendered accessible for repair &c. by removal of casing 8 without the necessity of disconnecting the complete unit from its wall or ceiling fixtures.
