348,321. Cooling bearings. PHILIPP, O., 22, Florastrasse, Basle, Switzerland. April 3, 1930, No. 10549. Convention date, May 18, 1929. [Class 12 (i).] A shaft 1 is formed with internal passages 24, 25, 26 and is enclosed within a spaced sleeve 12. Cooling medium introduced into the bore 24 is drawn along it by centrifugal action in the passages 25, 26. A rib 14 is preferably formed on the shaft and divides the space into compartments 15, 16, which communicate by means of openings 21.
