Abstract
309,643. Heenan & Froude, Ltd., and Walker, G. K. Jan. 20, 1928. Cooling air.-The air at the working faces of mines is cooled by means of a cooler 1 which is supplied with cooling water obtained from the mine surface, and such water is passed in an enclosed circuit through a falling hydraulic main 3, the air cooler 1, and a rising hydraulic main 4 back to the mine surface. The water may be cooled at the surface of the mine before circulation by coolers 2, and is conveyed to the working faces through insulated mains provided with regulating valves 6. The cooler may be of tubular type and mounted on a carriage. Partitions and air locks or doors may be fitted in conjunction with the cooler.
