396,260. Windscreens for vehicles; draught-excluders ; windscreen-wipers. SOC. ANON. DES ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS PANHARD & LEVASSOR, 19, Avenue d'lvry, Paris. Nov. 18, 1932, No. 32675. Convention date, Nov. 20, 1931. [Class 103 (ii).] An automobile windscreen 1 having an upwardlyarched upper edge is fixed to C-shaped links 8 pivoted at 9 to brackets 10 secured to the car body, a rear peripheral flange 5 on the windscreen frame having airtight contact with a rubber packing 6 in a groove 7 on the car body when the screen is closed. The windscreen is operated about the pivots 9 and held in any position by mechanism 12. The motor of the windscreen-wiper is clear of the screen to permit maximum visibility, the wiper arm 14, Fig. 3, being driven through a pin 15, while, to permit it to follow windscreen displacements, the arm 14 is pivoted at 16 and pressed towards the screen by a spring 17.
