Abstract

399,972. Vehicle [windscreens; draughtexcluders. WORCESTER WINDSHIELDS & CASEMENTS, Ltd. and JONES, A. E. E.. Barbourne, Worcester. Sept. 17, 1932, No. 25938. [Class 103 (ii).] A motor-vehicle windscreen having a curved upper edge is supported by pivots c situated at or near the ends of this edge engaging brackets d on the surrounding fixed framework, the resulting gap formed when the screen is opened between the upper edge and its seating on the framework being covered by a rubber or other flexible member e which is secured to the framework, for example by a clamping piece h, and to the upper edge of the screen frame a by a bead g engaging an undercut channel f therein. When the screen is closed a tight joint is formed at the upper edge by a bead j on the member e pressing against a fixed lip i, and at the sides and lower edge by rubber beading having a part l engaging the screen frame and a part m abutting the framework. Stays k or other means secure the screen in its open and closed positions.
