[Class 103 (ii).] A motor-vehicle windscreen a having a curved upper edge is pivotally supported near its lower edge by the free ends of pivoted links e, which permit the lower edge of the panel to swing forwardly and upwardly, while near its upper edge the screen is supported by slidable and pivotal connections with its fixed side-pillars c so that as the lower edge swings forwardly and upwardly the upper edge slides or swings rearwardly. In the form shown the screen has rearwardly-projecting slotted plates k each co-operating with a stud h projecting from one of the pillars c, a locking nut l on the stud securing the screen in any position. Lugs f, f<1> supporting respectively the upper end of a link e and a stud h may be formed integral with a bar or strip n adapted to be secured to the inner face of the frame. Rubber or other beading p around the screen forms a watertight joint with the fixed frame including the pillars c when the screen is closed. In a modification, pegs projecting from the screen near its upper edge pivot and slide in vertical slots or guides on the pillars c or in horizontal or inclined slots in lugs projecting rearwardly from the pillars, the pegs in the first case being carried by sliders working in the slots and lockable by nuts on the pegs. When the invention is applied to the upper panel of a two-panel screen the lower panel may be slidably mounted in the pillars and connected by links to the upper panel, so that as the upper panel is opened the lower panel moves upwardly having an opening below it.
