Abstract

347,464. Road vehicle opening tops. TASKER, H., Manora, Brodrick Road, Hampden Park, Eastbourne. April 12, 1930, No. 11627. [Class 108 (i).] Road vehicle roofs having suitable guttering and a closable aperture are provided with a rigid cover N which is normally flush with the line or plane of the roof when closed and is adapted to be withdrawn, by sliding in a frame, beneath the fixed part D of the roof to open the aperture. The front end of the cover N is slidably connected to guides J in the roof opening which guides slope upwardly as shown towards the front end of the roof. The rear end of the cover is slidably connected to guides o on a frame M which is pivoted at the rear end to some fixed part of the roof while the front end is adapted for limited vertical movement the front end of the frame M being held in either lowered or raised position by means of a pin L in an apertured bracket K. The rear end of the cover N is provided with a suitable gutter B into which projects a drip C<2>. The sides of the roof opening are provided with gutters P while its front end also has a gutter R. In a modification the frame M may be secured at its rear end to the fixed part of the roof by a spring bolt which allows limited longitudinal and pivotal movements the front end of the frame being engaged by means of a projection in either one of two slots.
