Abstract

162,542. Wilmott, A. E. May 5, 1920. Wind-screens.- A guard for preventing the portion of a vehicle windscreen in the driver's line of vision from being obscured by snow, rain, &c. comprising an inverted U-shaped frame 1, to the side edges 2 of which are hinged wing-pieces 10 and to the upper edge a coverpiece 6 adapted in the operative position to be supported on the wing-pieces 10, the frame 1 being attached to the face of the screen by a. number of rubber suckers 3. The front edge of the cover 6 is provided with a rod 17 having projections at each end adapted to rest in notches on lugs 20 on the wing-pieces and to be secured therein by nuts 19. When the nuts 19 are lcosened, the guard can be collapsed, removed from the wind-screen and stowed away in a flat condition. Strips 22 of rubber are arranged on the edges of the frame 1 so as to contact with the screen and prevent rain-drops from running down the screen on to the protected portion.
