Wind and like screens or deflectors.-A windscreen for the rear seats of automobiles comprises a sheet h of mica &c. secured to fabric bands f, g supported on rigid transverse mounting-members d, e. The mounting-member d is connected by tightly-fitting ovoid sockets i<1> to socket members i slidable against the action of springs k on supporting-uprights ) j detachably connected to sockets m<1> fitted on the interior of the vehicle at the sides. In the operative position the ends of the transverse member e are held against the action of the springs k, under projecting lugs l<1> attached to the supports j so that the screen is taut. In a modified form, Fig. 7, the ends of socket members g are held against springs k contained on the upper part of the supports. An apron p may be attached by press studs r to the lower edge of the screen.
