Abstract

394,059. Window holders ; window stops ; preventing rattling of windows. PETERS & CO., Ltd., G. D., Windsor Works, and DISMORE, A. V., 14, Martin Road, both in Slough, Bucking- hamshire. Feb. 9, 1932, No. 3885. [Class 44.] An unbalanced sliding sash 1 is held in various positions by stops 8, 9, 10 mounted on a spring strip 11 and spring- pressed to engage underneath the sash. Downward pressure on the sash presses in the stops so as to allow further opening of the window. The strip 11 is pressed outwardly by leaf springs 12, 13, 14 and may be floatingly housed in a channel 30. The sash slides in guide channels 2 and the channels 2, 30 are mounted in an outer channel 3. The sash may be lightly pressed against its seating to prevent rattling by a spring-pressed strip 25. In an alternative arrangement, the strip 11 is hinged at its lower end to the channel 30 and pressed outwards by a single leaf spring. The channel 3 may be extended at 32 to support a lower fixed sash 4.
