Abstract

393,809. Metal-bound collapsable and other boxes. RICE, F. J., and AUSTRALIAN BOX MILLS PROPRIETARY, Ltd., White Street, South Melbourne, Australia. Sept. 5, 1932, No. 24720. [Class 18.] Collapsable and other boxes &c. are provided at the corners with corner joints consisting of an angular metal binding-strip 7 stepped at 7c secured to the edge of one wall so as to form a channel 9, within which fits a second angular strip 11 secured to the edge of the adjacent wall, fastenings such as staples 8, 12 being used to secure the strips in place. The strips 7 form part of flexible metal strips connecting the bottom with the opposite sides and lid, the ends 6 being arranged as shown to complete the box. In order to held the box closed the two ends of each of the strips 7 may be rolled together as shown in Fig. 5.
