Abstract

403,699. Spiked plates. KAMPER, A. M., 15, Fassett Road, Kingston-on-Thames. June 29, 1932, No. 18421. [Class 89 (ii).] Flexible flanged and toothed metal strips of the kind used for hingedly binding together three or four panels (e.g. bottom two sides and top) of a box to form a blank, the flanges serving to hold the ends when the box is erected, have the flanges 2, 3, Fig. 2 formed so that they engage the ends on the outside and on the inside. Alternative forms of strip are shown in Figs. 3, 5, 6 and 7. According to the Provisional Specification the following alternative forms of strip may be employed :-(1) the strip has a plane middle portion with teeth at right angles along one edge and a flange at the other edge, a second row of teeth being arranged in the plane of the middle portion ; (2) the strip has a row of teeth at one edge extending in the same direction as the flange at the other edge ; (3) the form shown in Fig. 5 is modified in that the teeth along the wider parts are on the same side as the flange.
