[Class 89 (ii).] Interengaging spiked metal strips 10, 14, Fig. 4, for joining the adjacent edges of the panels of a packing case are formed with a rolled edge and a turned-up, preferably curved, edge respectively, andthe strips may be straight, V-shaped, Fig. 9, or goose-neck shaped, Fig. 10. The spikes in the strips are longer than the thickness of the material of the panels so that the projecting ends can be turned over, and they are punched out of a strip either in the direction of its length or transversely thereto.
