Abstract

393,718. Hook fastenings. SIBETH, E. F., Manuka, Payhembury, Honiton, Devon. March 18, 1932, No. 8057. [Classes 44 and 89 (ii).] A gate fastening comprises a hook 1 with a pivoted mousing and having a shank 1a of sufficient length for hand gripping which is connected by a short length of chain 4 to a screw eyelet fixed to the gate. The hook engages a screw eyelet 5 fixed to the post and is prevented from being accidentally displaced, by the mousing which consists of a pivoted link 2, Fig. 1, adapted to engage a curved nose 7 in the bill of the hook, or of a pivoted metal strip 9, Fig. 5, having a lateral stop lug 10 to engage the shank.
