Abstract
475,850. Chain strainers. AMERICAN CHAIN & CABLE CO., Inc. Feb. 23, 1937, No. 5474. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1936. Addition to 472,948. [Class 45] [Also in Group XXV] In a chain fastener as described in the parent Specification, the keeper 20 is formed wth a rectangular aperture which is of a size to allow it to adopt an inclined position and allow diagonally opposed corners 25, 24 to bite into the sides of the link when the keeper is engaged with the hook and the fastener is in an upright position. The inclination of the keeper is increased by tapering the body of the link where it merges into the loop 11, and the inner face of the hook 19 is substantially parallel to the face of the keeper.
