Abstract

392,249. Locks and latches. NETTLEFOLD & SONS, Ltd. and THOMPSON, H. A., 163, Euston Road, London. Dec. 3, 1931, No. 33552. [Class 44.] In a lock having a latch a of the runner plate type as described in Specification 359,226, a lock bolt e is arranged to enter the same aperture in the striking plate as the latch. The latch a is preferably locked by pins j on the bolt head e which engage behind the latch head when the bolt is shot. The pins j serve also to secure the bolt head e to a sliding plate f controlled by a spring-pressed pivoted tumbler g co-operating with a peg h. The bolt e may comprise plates above and below the latch or it may be of tubular or channel section to embrace the latch. When retracted, the bolt head e provides a guide for the latch.
