[Class 44.] A pair of spaced blocks 17, 18 on the door post receive between them a block 19 on the door when the door is closed, bores in the blocks registering in alignment to receive a removable bolt 23. The blocks shown are carried on channel members 10, 11 embracing the edges of the door 12 and post 13, and one member has a flange 16 covering the meeting edges to prevent cutting or otherwise tampering with the device. The bores are preferably inclined as shown to facilitate manipulation of the bolt and a recess 29 is provided for the same purpose. The bolt may contain a revolving barrel or other lock operated by a key 28 to shoot a retaining bolt 26, carried by bolt 23, into a socket in block 19. To ensure correct positioning a transverse pin 25 may engage a notch in the end of bolt 23, or bolt 23 may be of irregular cross section. Alternatively, an annular recess may be formed in block 19 with which the bolt 26 may engage in any position of bolt 23. A socket 43 may be provided in which bolt 23 may be locked when not in use, and an alternative fastening such as a bolt 40 may be combined with the device. In the form of bolt 23 described the revolving lock-barrel has an eccentric pin 33 serving to slide a plate 35, an upstanding pillar 37 on the plate having the bolt 26 secured therein. Plate 35 is guided by pin-and-slot 36 and the tubular rear end of bolt 26 is guided on a pin 38a.
