Abstract
452,815. Night latches. LEGGE & CO., Ltd., J., LEGGE, J. E., and LEGGE, F. V., Stafford Street, Willenhall, Staffordshire. July 8, 1935, No. 19399. [Class 44] A night latch comprising a spring-pressed latch bolt operated by a knob or handle from inside the door and by a key from the outside has a separate looking bolt mounted in the same casing and operated by a key inserted in a separate keyhole and acting entirely separately from key actuation of the latch bolt. A latch bolt D is actuated by a follower d on a knob on the inside of the door and by the usual flat strip from a barrel lock on the outside. A separate locking bolt E is actuated by a separate key from either side of the door and is locked by the usual levers or tumblers e<2>. There may also be a latch F mounted in the same casing and operable by a follower f from both sides of the door, the latch shown being similar to that described in Specification 421,010. A catch device d<5> as described in Specification 426,001 is provided to lock the latch bolt D from inside the door in its shot or retracted positions.
