[Class 8 (ii).] A filter for air and gases comprises a base portion having inlet and outlet tubulures a, b, and supporting a perforated pipe d surrounded by a filter which may comprise a cylindrical body f embraced by a replaceable cylinder of felt, wadding, asbestos, &c. The filter is held in position between a plate k and a perforated batile-plate e and is enclosed by a bell m clamped down on the base by a cap n on the end of the tube.
