391,008. Moulding concrete walls in situ. WHEELER, H. R., Parkfield, East Bergholt, Suffolk. Aug. 20, 1932, No. 23424. [Class 20 (ii).] - Concrete walls are cast in situ between shuttering which is raised after each casting operation by a distance of only a fraction of its depth, the outside and inside shuttering for the same walls, and the different parts of the outside shuttering also, being raised independently to avoid stripping the concrete. The external shutters 1 are connected by metal bands 32 to the transverse internal shutters 2 so that these are raised together by lifters L<1>, L2, &c. arranged around the shutters and operated successively while the other internal shutters are raised separately by internal lifters La, Lb, Lc disposed at the mid-points of internal walls, and afterwards clamped into position by means of clamps 3, 28. The lifting devices may be of the type described in Specification 336,853, [Class 20 (ii), Buildings and structures, Miscellaneous accessories &c.], one placed externally at each corner for the outer shuttering and the others placed internally at the. mid-points of the walls of the rooms opposite the metal bands 32. The external shutters are distanced by spacer frames 9 consisting of uprights 10 connected by pairs of toggle levers 11 to a centre bar 13 to which is also pivotally connected at 27 a rigid crossbar 23 the ends of which are received in slots 24 of the uprights and rest on adjustable pins 25 in the uprights whereby the distance apart of the uprights is adjusted. A friction core lifter 39 .. 42 may be carried by the spacer frame.
