Abstract

446,076. Moulding concrete walls in situ. BROUGHTON, H. H., 15, Dartmouth Street, Queen Anne's Gate, London. Oct. 30, 1935, No. 30019. [Class 20 (ii)] Shutters for use in constructing concrete walls in situ are carried by yokes which comprise nuts working on screwed sleeves provided with grips whereby they are supported on upright reinforcing rods disposed in the cast wall. Each yoke comprises doublechannel side members 10 secured back to back with the ends of the cross - members 12, 18 disposed between their webs. Each cross-member is formed of two bare separated at their middle portions, the upper twc bars embracing a nut casting 14 to coact with a screwed sleeve 17, and the lower two bars embracing a guide frame 20 to coact with a reinforcing rod 24. The sleeve 17 is automatically clamped to the reinforcing rod after each raising operation. The shutters 36 are supported by horizontal members 38 adapted to be wedged to the side members of the yokes by stirrups 40 and wedges 42, the horizontal members being further supported from the lower yoke crossmember by supporting rods 30. Inclined supporting rods 26 are also disposed between the upper and lower cross-members of each yoke. In a modification, the lower horizontal shutter-supports are directly supported from the upper yoke cross-member, the supporting rods passing through apertures provided in the lower yoke cross-member.
