Abstract

493,295. Casting floor beams in situ. COPEMAN, H. C. April 5, 1937, No. 9607. [Class 20 (ii)] Beams for concrete floors are cast in situ between shutters supported by adjustable channel-shaped members, so dimensioned that some of the members may be housed within the others when collapsed. The main member is disposed horizontally and comprises separated channelbeams 1, arranged back to back, with distancepieces 2 and end connectors 4. Channelsection uprights 5 are pinned to the horizontal member and are supported at their outer ends by inclined channel-section bars 6, hinged at 7 to the uprights and pinned at their lower ends to the horizontal member. The positions of the pinning apertures in the bars 6 are arranged by vertical projection from the apertures in the horizontal member, and the positions of the aperture in the uprights, by horizontal projection from the apertures in the inclined members. Fig. 4 shows the arrangement when the uprights and inclined bars are housed within the horizontal member.
