Abstract

298,362. McCulloch, A. Oct. 3, 1927. Wash-tub and wringer stands comprise a rectangular frame 10, to the upper cross bar 11 and a pair of pivoted legs 13 connected by a cross bar 14 thus forming an easel-like structure to support a platform 16 horizontally when the stand is opened, or parallel with the frame 10 when the stand is collapsed. In the construction shown the platform 16 is pivoted at 18 to the frame 10 and is provided with recesses 19 to engage the cross bar 14. The legs 13 and the frame 10 may be connected by stay members 15 rule-jointed at their centres. In a modification the platform is mounted for combined pivoted and sliding movement relative to the frame 10. In a further modification the platform is not connected to the frame but can be slidably inserted in guides attached to the frame 10 and the legs 13. The side members of the frame 10 are, in this modification, made with additional guides in which the platform can be inserted when the .device is collapsed. According to the first Provisional Specification the platform may simply rest upon cross-bars of the frame 10 and legs 13.
