Abstract
655,017. Casting walls in situ. WALLER, H. F., and BEVAN, F. S. March 31, 1949, No. 31184. [Class 20(ii)] Collapsable shuttering units serving as internal supports for the casting of vertical walls of concrete &c. structures comprise a number of shuttering plates 1 which are vertically hinged together at their ends 2 and each of which is foldable inwardly between its hinged ends so that it may be retracted from its extended shuttering position. The plates 1 are linked at their vertical fold lines 3 between the hinged ends, to an axially movable rod 7, which may have a lifting eye, by links 4a. A building is constructed by positioning the collapsable shuttering units against projecting ribs 12, Fig. 5, on the concrete floor 11 these ribs locating also external shuttering plates 13 which are connected to the internal shuttering plate 1 by cottared bolts 14, the concrete then being poured. The collapsable shuttering units may be immediately juxtaposed where large halls are to be constructed ,or may be spaced for the casting of partition walls. Specification 540,823 is referred to.
