Abstract

389,270. Endless treads. REID, SIR H., 110, Flemington Street, Springburn, Glasgow. March 1, 1932, No. 6172. [Class 79 (i).] A vehicle wheel comprises an inner wheel 1 fitted with a resilient tyre 2 of toroidal form rolling on a track 3 of similar contour presented by a metal rim in side-cushioning contact with the tyre all round the wheel and controlled solely by the tyre. The metal rim may be formed by two or more rings 4, 5 connected by bolts (not shown) and may be flanged as shown, or fitted with a rubber or other tread. The rings 4, 5 may be pierced as at 6 for drainage. The rim may present two internal tracks 3 for use with twin tyres.
