211,243. Brookes, A. J. C. Nov. 23, 1922. Tread bands.-An arched steel band a fits over the tread, and is held on by the inflation, of a pneumatic tyre b or ordinary construction. The band a extends less than half way down the sides of the tyre b. A solid rubber tread c is vulcanized into the hoop a, or the hoop a may be formed with a steel flange to run upon rails. The rubber tread c may be corrugated to run upon grass land or the like.
