388,264. Couplings. NOBILI, C. DE, 36, Via XX Settembre, Genoa, Italy. May 24, 1932, No. 14757. Convention date, May 27, 1931. [Class 38 (i).] A clamp secured to a lead for attaching it to a battery terminal comprises two jaw s 1, 2 articulated together and closed on the terminal by means of a bolt 8. The articulation may comprise a projecting edge 16 on the jaw 1 that engages in a recess 17 in an overhanging portion of the jaw 2. To prevent lateral displacement a central lug 19 on the jaw 1 enters a corresponding recess 20 in the other jaw. Alternatively the articulation may comprise an enlarged rounded edge that is slid laterally into a similarly shaped groove in the other jaw, Figs. 1 to 3 (not shown). The lead is held in a groove 13 by pressing in the free edges 15 of the groove to grip the lead.
